Why the Nervous System?

Your nervous system isn’t just about nerves — it’s the control center for your whole body. It decides how you respond to stress, how your body heals, and even how your digestion works. When it’s dysregulated, chronic symptoms often stick around. Here’s why it matters:

  • Stress responses: The autonomic nervous system (ANS) manages fight, flight, and shutdown. When old stress or trauma is stored, your “alarm system” can get stuck, keeping your body in high alert.

  • Healing and inflammation: A regulated nervous system helps calm inflammation and supports your body’s natural healing processes.

  • Detoxification: When the nervous system is dysregulated, detox pathways can become impaired. The vagus nerve plays a key role in supporting multiple aspects of detox, including liver function.

  • Vagus nerve: Sends safety signals to the brain and helps regulate heart rate, breathing, digestion and so much more.

  • Digestive system: A calm nervous system supports proper digestion, nutrient absorption, and gut-brain communication.

  • Fire alarm stuck on (limbic system): Sometimes your body’s danger alarm system stays triggered, making you feel stressed or unsafe even when there’s no immediate danger.

Many people spend years trying to heal their body or calm their stress levels without ever being shown the role the nervous system plays.

When your body is locked in fight–flight, it can’t rest, detoxify, repair, or digest properly — no matter how hard you try.

Jacqui gives you the missing piece: practical, science-backed tools to regulate your nervous system in just a few minutes a day, so your body can do what it’s designed to do — heal.

Symptoms of an unhealthy nervous system.

  • Your chronic symptoms don’t improve, no matter what you do.

  • You’ve seen multiple practitioners, tried different therapies, or health protocols, but nothing seems to fully work.

  • You feel exhausted all the time, no matter how much you rest.

  • You’re quick to anger or easily frustrated, even over small things.

  • Your mind is foggy, making it hard to focus or remember things.

  • You have digestive issues, including bloating, constipation, diarrhoea, or general discomfort that never fully settles.

  • You notice sensitivities to foods, supplements, or medications that didn’t affect you before.

  • You feel flat, disconnected, or emotionally numb much of the time.

  • Anxiety or panic comes on quickly and feels hard to control.

  • You feel like your body is constantly on high alert, you take a long time to recover after being startled.

  • If you’ve experienced mould illness, tick-borne illness, or other chronic environmental exposures, there’s a strong chance your nervous system is contributing to your ongoing symptoms.

Who is Nervous System work for?

Chronic Stress

Do you feel like you are on edge all the time, always in fight or flight, quick to become angry? Is anxiety becoming an unwanted part of life?

Chronic Fatigue Syndrome

Research shows that ME/CFS may involve a dysregulated autonomic nervous system, leading to problems with energy regulation, stress response, and recovery.

Chronic Gut Symptoms/IBS

Digestive issues like bloating, pain, or food intolerance often stem from a nervous system stuck in fight-or-flight or shutdown. These states disrupt the gut on so many levels and increase sensitivity through the gut-brain axis.

Burnout and Adrenal Fatigue

When your body is constantly in a low-energy state, it’s often a sign that the nervous system has shifted into shutdown to protect you. Chronic stress keeps the HPA axis activated, eventually leading to cortisol dysregulation, low energy, and emotional flatness.

Sleep Difficulties and Insomnia

If sleep feels elusive, this work helps your nervous system shift into the state your body needs to rest, allowing you to fall asleep more easily and stay asleep through the night.

Chronic Pain/Fibromyalgia

Pain that spreads or lingers without clear tissue damage is often due to central sensitisation — where the nervous system amplifies pain signals. The brain and nervous system stay on high alert, interpreting even normal sensations as threatening. This is a protective, but exhausting, pattern.

Heart Rate and Blood Pressure Issues

Heart rate and blood pressure issues are often influenced by how the vagus nerve and sympathetic nervous system regulate the heart. Supporting nervous system regulation helps restore balance, promoting steadier heart function and healthier blood pressure responses.

Environmentally Acquired Illness (Such as Mould/Tick born illness)

Sensitivities to mould, chemicals, smells, or supplements may be signs of a hyperactive limbic system. This part of the brain tags certain inputs as dangerous, keeping the body in a reactive state. Over time, these patterns can retrain the nervous system to respond as if under constant threat.

Anxiety/Depression

Feelings of anxiety or low mood often come from a nervous system that’s overactive or under-responsive. Bringing the nervous system into balance can help you feel calmer, steadier, and more in control of your emotions.
